Does Bilby visit my store from Australia, and when?
Yes — Sydney is Bilby’s home region. The visit runs at 02:00 in the store’s own time zone (AEST, ACST or AWST, and AEDT when daylight saving applies), in a real Chromium browser on a 1440×900 desktop and a 390×844 phone, home → product → cart → checkout, stopping at the payment step. Nothing is ordered.
Speed and Core Web Vitals are measured from Sydney, which is what a customer on an Australian connection experiences; a Perth store still gets a domestic measurement rather than one routed through the US. Bilby never enters card details and never needs access to your Shopify admin; it visits the public storefront as a customer would.
What breaks on Australian Shopify stores that a pinger misses?
An Afterpay or Zip widget that errors on the product page, Australia Post or Sendle rates that stop returning at checkout, a GST-inclusive price that shows ex-GST after a theme update, a discount code the checkout rejects, or a mobile theme update that hides add-to-cart. Navaal is an Australian business, so checkout takes your billing address and runs Stripe Tax, which works out the GST due on an Australian address; every charge produces a Stripe invoice showing the tax treatment and amount. Checkout asks for your ABN and prints it on the invoice, so the document carries what your bookkeeper needs for the BAS.

What does an Australian tax invoice from a Shopify store need?
For sales of A$82.50 or more (GST inclusive) the ATO needs the words “tax invoice”, your identity and ABN, the date, a description with quantity and price, the GST amount or a statement that the total includes GST, and — from A$1,000 — the buyer’s identity or ABN. Shopify’s order confirmation is not one by default.
