Is my tracking actually firing?

Bilby's Money check reads the network log of every visit and records, per step, which tracking platforms fired and which events they sent: GA4, Meta Pixel, TikTok, Google Ads, Pinterest, Klaviyo, Snap and Shopify Customer Events. It reports a platform that loaded but stayed silent when the shopper added to cart or started checkout, an event that fired last night and not tonight, and a page-view that fires twice for the same tag. A consent manager on the page is noted, never flagged.

Severity — the rule, not a feeling

P1A previously-firing purchase-path event stopped (compared with the store's previous visit; same platform, same step, base tag still present, no consent manager).

P2Missing on a step the shopper acted on — the platform loaded and fired elsewhere, but not here, and no consent manager could explain it.

P3Duplicate page-view for one tag id on one document.

Honest limit. Purchase events can't be verified without a real order. Bilby verifies view, add-to-cart and begin-checkout; the report links the two-minute owner check for purchase. A consent manager can legitimately silence pixels for a first-time visitor — that is printed as a note, not a finding.

Questions people ask

Which platforms does Bilby detect?

Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, Pinterest Tag, Klaviyo, Snap Pixel and Shopify Customer Events (web pixels). Detection is by the platform's own collection endpoints in the network log, so a tag loaded through GTM or the Shopify pixel sandbox is seen just the same.

Why isn't a silent pixel always a finding?

Because consent managers exist. If OneTrust, Cookiebot, Pandectes, Shopify's own consent API or similar is on the page, a pixel that stays quiet for a first-time visitor may simply be waiting for consent. Bilby prints that as a note. Without a consent manager, a loaded platform that fires page views but nothing when the shopper adds to cart is a real gap.

Can Bilby see my purchase event?

No — it would need to place an order. The finding for any Money issue includes the two-minute owner check: place a test order, then compare it in each platform's real-time report.
