A migration you can check, afterwards.

From A$4,500 — ex GST. The part that goes wrong is never the products: it is the URLs. A migration that moves your catalogue perfectly and drops 92 redirects costs you the search traffic you spent years earning, and nobody notices for a month.

// How it goes

The process, in five steps.

Inventory every product, URLand what ranks Map old URL → newbefore anything moves Move products, variantsimages, customers Redirect every old URL301, tested Verify crawl, walk, comparethen watch for 30 days
The map comes before the move. Reconstructing a redirect map after a migration means asking what used to be at a URL that no longer answers — which is guesswork, and guesswork is how rankings get lost.
// What is included

What you actually get.

A URL map, written first

Every indexed URL, mapped to its destination, before a single product moves. This is the deliverable that decides whether the migration cost you anything.

Products, variants, images, customers

With the variant-level detail intact. A migration that flattens options into separate products is a migration that breaks every one of your collection filters.

Duplicates merged, not carried

On the migration below, 45 duplicate product families were merged. Carrying duplicates across is how a 479-product catalogue becomes 600 products nobody trusts.

301s, tested as a set

Every old URL requested after launch and checked for a 301 to a 200 — not a redirect chain, and not a redirect to the homepage, which search engines treat as a soft 404.

The buying path walked

Desktop and mobile, home to the payment step, before you announce anything.

Thirty days of watching

Search Console and a nightly walk, because the damage from a bad migration shows up in week three, not on launch day.

WhatFromCovers
Store migration A$4,500 / US$2,900 WooCommerce, Shopify or custom

Covers WooCommerce, Shopify or a custom platform, up to 100 products; past that it is 0.15 hours a product. Hourly work is A$140 / US$95. AUD is ex GST for Australian clients; USD everywhere else. Every one of these is a fixed price against a written scope before the work starts — and the cost guide shows the arithmetic, including the hours behind every addition.

45duplicate families merged

Those are the figures from moving the Lukka Bathware range into the store described on /work/ebs, read 14 October 2026. EBS Bathroom and Plumbing Supplies is owned by this studio’s owner. We say so wherever we cite it: it is a real build with real numbers, and it is not an arm’s-length client reference.

“Zero data loss” means something specific and checkable: every product, variant, SKU, image and price present afterwards, compared as a set rather than spot-checked. The 45 merged families are the interesting number — a migration is also the one moment when it is cheap to fix the duplicates the old catalogue accumulated.

// Questions

Straight answers.

Will I lose my search rankings?

Not if the redirect map is built before the move and tested after it. That is the whole job. What loses rankings is a migration where the old URLs 404, or redirect in chains, or all land on the homepage — which search engines read as a soft 404 and drop. We request every old URL after launch and check each one reaches a 200 in one hop.

How long does it take?

Usually three to five weeks for a catalogue of a few hundred products, and the long pole is almost never the technical work: it is deciding what the new categories should be, which is yours to decide and ours to make easy.

Can you migrate from a platform you have not named?

Usually. If it can export products and we can read its URL structure, it can be mapped. Where it cannot export, the question becomes whether crawling the live store is acceptable, and we will tell you what that costs in time before you commit.

What happens to my customers' accounts?

Customers and order history move; passwords generally cannot, because platforms store them hashed with their own salt. That means a password reset email on launch, which is a communications job as much as a technical one, and it belongs in the plan rather than in a surprise.

What does “zero data loss” actually mean?

That the set afterwards equals the set before: products, variants, SKUs, images, prices and metafields, compared programmatically rather than spot-checked. We will show you the comparison. If something could not move — and occasionally something cannot — you will hear it from us before launch, not find it later.

Prices are published. A quote still needs a conversation.

The cost guide prices your own build from the same hours and the same rate we quote with, and the form at the bottom of it carries your estimate into the message — so the reply starts from what you chose.
