Commission is a share of the money that actually arrived, in the currency it arrived in — not of a list price. If they used a discount code, your 25% is 25% of what they paid. If they refund or charge back, that month comes off; nothing else does.

The fear with a small programme is not that they will refuse to pay 25%. It is that you will send traffic, hear nothing, and have no way to tell whether you earned nothing or were simply not counted. So your page shows clicks, which earn you nothing at all — open your own link in a private window and the number should move within a few seconds. If it roughly agrees with your own analytics, every number below it is worth believing. If it ever does not, tell us: we would rather fix a counting bug than argue about a payment.
The page shows the whole chain rather than one total — clicked, signed up, started paying, commission due — so a referral that clicked and never bought is visible as exactly that.

The exclusions, said in the same breath as the offer.
- No self-referrals. Your own subscription is not a referral.
- No brand bidding. Do not buy ads on “Navaal” or “Bilby” — you would be charging us to reach people who were already looking for us.
- No coupon or cashback sites. They intercept buyers at the checkout who were already ours.
- No paid placement in a ranking. Commission on a subscription is ordinary commerce. Money for a position in a “best tools” list is buying a review, and we have turned that down twice this month from the other side of the table.
Write what you actually think, including the parts where Bilby is the wrong choice — our own comparison pages name the rivals that beat us and where. A review that only says good things is worth nothing to your readers, which makes it worth nothing to us.

When and how am I paid?
By hand, on the 5th of each month, by bank transfer. A person reads the same table you can see on your own referrals page, emails you the figures, and makes the transfer. There is no automated payout system and we are not going to pretend there is one.
How do I know my referrals are being counted?
Your referrals page shows clicks — not just sales — so you can check us in ten seconds: open your own link in a private window and the click count should move within a few seconds. Clicks earn nothing, which is exactly why they are the most useful number on the page.
How long does a click count for?
60 days, and first touch wins: if someone follows your link and then arrives later through a search, the commission is still yours. If they followed someone else's link first, it is theirs. That rule is the same in both directions.
Can I earn commission on the Shopify app as well?
No, and that is a limitation of Shopify rather than a choice. Shopify app subscriptions bill through Shopify, which gives no revenue-share rail to pay a third party. We would rather say so than imply a commission that cannot be paid. Bilby bills through Stripe, so Bilby can have a programme.
What is not allowed?
No referring yourself, no bidding on our brand names in ads, no coupon or cashback sites, and no paid placement in a ranking. The last one is the important one: paying commission on a subscription is ordinary commerce, and paying for a place in a list is buying a review.
