What should an invoice include?
Who it's from, who it's for, a unique invoice number, the issue and due dates, each item with quantity and rate, the total, and how to pay. That's exactly the structure this page builds — and anything you leave blank simply doesn't print, so a minimal invoice still looks deliberate, not unfinished.

Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Preview, maths and PDF all happen on your device. Drafts autosave to your own browser's storage; "Save .json" downloads a file to your machine that you can load back later — handy for repeat clients. After the page loads, the tool makes no network requests at all.
How do currencies work?
Pick from fifteen major currencies — the tool guesses yours from your browser's language. Decimal handling is correct per currency: yen amounts have no decimals, most others use two. All arithmetic is done in integer minor units (cents, pence, paise), so totals always reconcile exactly.
How are tax and discounts calculated?
Discount first, then tax on what remains, each rounded half-up to the smallest currency unit. If your prices already include tax, tick "prices include tax" and the invoice shows the tax portion extracted from the total instead of added on top. An "amount already paid" line turns the grand total into a clear Balance due.
I'm in Australia — is this the right tool?
If you're registered for GST, use the Tax Invoice Generator instead — the ATO requires specific elements ("Tax Invoice" wording, your ABN, GST shown correctly) and that tool enforces all of them live, with real ABN checksum validation. Not GST-registered? This universal generator is fine.
